Hens lay the most eggs the first 1-2 years. Started hens are less than a year old and just starting to lay. They are at the beginning of their peak laying years. For that reason, they are our most valuable hens (as egg layers) and are priced accordingly.
All of our hens are from healthy, high-quality imported lines and organic fed from hatch. We keep detailed information on each bird.
